Ice Storm 2025
A Year of System Improvements
Our crews worked around the clock alongside mutual assistance partners from across Ontario to safely restore service as quickly as possible.
But the work did not stop when the power came back on.
Experiences like this reinforce an important truth. We cannot control the weather. But we can control how prepared we are for it.
Over the past year, we have taken several steps to improve how we prepare for and respond to major storms, including:
- Increasing outage map capacity and performance to support higher customer traffic during major events
- Enhancing storm communication protocols to provide clearer, more consistent updates during outages
- Expanding restoration partnerships through membership in the Ontario Mutual Assistance Group
- Strengthening internal emergency response coordination and operational readiness
- Continuing vegetation management and infrastructure hardening to help reduce storm related impacts across our grid
All with one goal in mind: continuing to strengthen our system and deliver reliable power for our community.
We remain grateful for the patience and support shown by residents and businesses across Innisfil and South Barrie during last year’s storm.
