Energy Efficiency Programs for InnPower Customers

Saving energy doesn't have to be complicated. InnPower connects customers in Innisfil and South Barrie with province-wide electricity conservation programs and rebates delivered under Ontario's Save on Energy initiative.

Whether you're upgrading your home, running a small business, or managing a larger facility, there may be financial incentives available to help reduce electricity costs, improve comfort, and invest in long-term energy performance.

For Your Home

If you're planning renovations, upgrading equipment, or simply looking to lower your monthly electricity bill, these programs are designed to support Ontario homeowners.

Home Renovation Savings Program

The Home Renovation Savings Program provides rebates for eligible energy-efficient upgrades, including: 

  • Heat pumps
  • Heat pump water heaters
  • Insulation and air sealing
  • Windows and doors
  • Smart thermostats
  • Solar and battery storage (where applicable)

These upgrades can improve home comfort year-round while lowering electricity consumption. Rebates help offset upfront costs, making energy-efficient improvements more accessible. 

New rebates are now available for select ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient 2025 appliances.

Peak Perks Program

Stay comfortable and earn rewards with Peak Perks. 

If your central air conditioning is connected to a smart thermostat, you can receive a $75 virtual prepaid Mastercard when you enroll, plus $20 each year you remain in the program. Small, temporary adjustments during peak summer demand help manage energy use — with minimal impact on comfort.

Energy Affordability Program

Get free upgrades that help lower your electricity bills and make your home more comfortable. Eligible households may receive products, home improvements, or personalized energy-saving kits, at no cost.

Smart Thermostat Rebate

Save on the purchase of an eligible smart thermostat that helps manage your home’s heating and cooling more efficiently. Smart thermostats automatically adjust temperature based on your schedule, habits, and preferences, helping improve comfort while reducing energy use. No home energy assessment required. 


For Your Small Business

Energy efficiency upgrades can reduce operating costs and improve overall building performance. Save on Energy programs offer targeted support for small businesses across Ontario. 

Small Business Program

Eligible small businesses may receive:

  • Up to $3,000 in incentives for lighting upgrades
  • Up to $2,500 for non-lighting measures (such as refrigeration upgrades or smart thermostats)

The program is designed to make upgrades simple, affordable, and minimally disruptive to daily operations.

If you operate a retail space, restauarant, office, or small commercial facility, this program may help lower your electricity costs while improving lighting quality and equipment efficiency.

Peak Perks for Small Business

Small businesses using eligible smart thermostats may also participate in Peak Perks, earning incentives while supporting electricity demand management during peak periods.

For Businesses and Contractors

InnPower supports commercial, industrial, institutional, agricultural, and multi-unit residential customers through province-wide Save on Energy programs. These initiatives are designed to reduce electricity costs, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term sustainability planning. 

Whether you’re upgrading lighting, replacing HVAC systems, improving production processes, or managing multi-site facilities, incentives may be available to help offset project costs. 

Peak Performance Program (New as of April 2026)

The Peak Performance Program helps Ontario businesses reduce electricity use during periods of high demand while earning financial incentives. 

Designed for commercial and institutional facilities, the program rewards participants for lowering energy consumption (typically through HVAC adjustments) during peak events, helping improve grid reliability across the province. 

Program Highlights: 

  • Earn incentives based on verified energy reductions 
  • No penalties if you're unable to participate in an event
  • Supports both cost savings and sustainability goals
  • Optional enabling incentives available for new participants 

Who can participate? 
Businesses with the ability to reduce 500 kW or more of demand, including offices, retail, and multi-site operations.

Retrofit Program (Prescriptive & Engineered Incentives)

The Retrofit Program provides financial incentives for upgrading existing equipment to high-efficiency alternatives. This includes improvements such as: 

  • LED lighting upgrades
  • HVAC systems and controls
  • Motors and variable frequency drives
  • Refrigeration systems
  • Compressed air systems
  • Building automation upgrades

Both prescriptive (fixed incentive) and engineered/custom project streams are available, depending on project scope and complexity.

For larger or more complex facilities, custom project incentives may be available for unique energy-saving initiatives not covered under standard measures. 

These projects are ideal for:

Incentives are calculated based on projected electricity savings and system impact.
