Ontario Electricity Rebate
The Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER) is a provincially funded rebate that helps eligible customers lower their electricity costs.
As of November 1, 2026, eligible customers receive a 15.7% reduction on their electricity bill before HST. The rebate is applied directly to qualifying electricity bills, so no action is required for most customers.
November 1, 2026 Update
The Ontario Electricity rebate was adjusted to 15.7% as part of the province's updated electricity pricing. The rebate continues to be calculated on the eligible bill amount before HST, in accordance with O. Reg. 363/16 .

Eligibility depends on your electricity account and how the property is used.
Automatically Eligible
No self-declaration form required.
- Residential and small commercial customers billed under Residential or General Service Energy rate classes using less than 50 kW.
- Commercial accounts with demand greater than 50 kW and annual electricity use below 250,000 kWh.
Self-Declaration Required
Certain commercial customers with demand greater than 50 kW and annual electricity use above 250,000 kWh may qualify if they meet one of these criteria:
- Farming businesses
- Long-term care homes, excluding hospital accounts
- Predominantly residential multi-unit complexes
- Common elements of qualifying multi-unit complexes
- Retirement residences
- Mobile home parks
Already receiving the OER? If your account remains eligible and your circumstances have not changed, you generally do not need to reapply.
How to Find the Rebate on Your Bill
If you're receiving the Ontario Electricity Rebate, it will appear as a separate line item under Other Charges on your monthly InnPower bill.
Submitting the Self Declaration/Eligibility Form
Customers who qualify under the expanded eligibility requirements must submit a one-time Ontario Electricity Rebate Eligibility Form to confirm their eligibility. Completed forms can be returned to InnPower Customer Service by:
