On November 15, 2020 at approximately 2:30 pm a few isolated outages occurred. Around 3:15 p.m. a storm rolled through causing damage and locking out a main 44kV feeder with over 3000 customers affected. Staff worked to restore the majority of those customers at around 6:00 p.m.
Shortly after a tree fell on the 44kV line on 25th sideroad causing a supply loss on some distribution feeders leaving approximately 3000 customers without power in Alcona and to the north along 25th sideroad to the lake.
InnPower operations team addressed many emergency calls from fire and police and prioritized accordingly. Damage included broken poles, wires down and tree removals.
Repairs on the 44kV were completed around 10:30 p.m. restoring many customers. A pocket of customers from IBR to north of the 10th Line along 25th sideroad and to the lake remained without power and power was restored at 1:30 a.m.
Smaller pockets that require repair will be addressed as crews become available.
