An unplanned outage occurred on January 6, 2020 at approximately 4:00 pm in the Big Bay Point Area. The cause was a fault (possibly Animal Contact/Foreign Interference) in our system on which caused a device failure. The area has to be patrolled first to ensure there are no faults or issues with the distribution system affected (e.g. downed wires, branches or trees on lines etc.) and test the system (underground cables) to make sure everything is fine. Once all is clear and safe, restoration can be attempted. In that restoration process a faulty device was discovered and replaced accordingly.
The area affected is seen below along with the defective switch that required replacing.
All customers were restored around 11:00 pm.

Customers may currently experience delays when accessing the MyAccount portal or making payments through the Paymentus online and phone payment system.
Customers can still make payments in-office, through their financial institution or pre-authorized payment options during this time. We appreciate your patience while the issue is being resolved.
