Time-of-Use Rates Update

May 15, 2013 - The Ontario Energy Board approved Innisfil Hydro's rate application. For a typical residential customer, Innisfil Hydro has decreased its part of the residential bill for a total bill decrease of 2.9%. However, the Ontario Energy Board has increased Time-of-Use electricity rates for both residential and small business customers effective May 1,2013 by 2.9%. The net result is that with Innisfil Hydro's rate reduction, the total bill for a typical residential customer will stay the same. Innisfil Hydro costs contribute to 25% of the total bill.

The Ontario Energy Board approved Innisfil Hydro's rate application. For typical residential customer, Innisfil Hydro has decreased its part of a residential bill for a total bill decrease of 2.9%. However, The Ontario Energy Board has increased the Time-of-Use electricity rates for both residential and small business customers effective May 1, 2013 2.9%. The net result is that with Innisfil Hydro's rate reduction, the total bill for typical residential customer will stay the same on May 1st.

Innisfil Hydro costs contribute to 25% of the total bill.

"Over the past year our operating costs have been effectively reduced to provide some relief to our residential customers. Staff have been working very hard to improve reliability at the same time helping to reduce costs. Through those efforts we were successful in our rate application process to find a balance," said John Skorobohacz, Chairman of Innisfil Hydro.
