Critical Care and Key Account Customers
If you, or a member of your household depend upon electrically powered medical equipment (ventilator, dialysis machine, etc.), you can be added to our Critical Care and Key Accounts Customer Notification List. In the event of a power interruption, the Critical Care Customer and Key Accounts Customer Notification List aids us in responding to these critical needs.
Critical Care Customers are defined as:
- residential customers who have provided InnPower with documentation from a physician confirming that electrical service disconnection poses a risk of significant adverse effects on the physical health of the customer or on the physical health of the customer’s spouse, dependent family member or other person that regularly resides with the customer.
Key Account Customers are defined as:

Informing Our Customers
While InnPower makes every effort to minimize both the length and impact of all planned outages and notify all impacted Critical Care and Key Account customers, we cannot always guarantee an uninterrupted supply of electricity to our customers. InnPower will not always have the opportunity to notify customers of all outages as some are unplanned. InnPower will make every effort to contact these customers but will not be liable in any manner to the customer for failure to do so.
IMPORTANT: If you or a member in your household required an uninterrupted source of power for medical reasons, or you are a Key Account customer, you are responsible for ensuring and providing sufficient power back-up equipment (such as a battery back-up or generator).
Be Prepared
Customers who require an uninterrupted source of power for medical equipment should:
- Submit a completed and signed Critical Customer Care Registration Form, including the section required to be completed by their medical physician.
- Have an alternative source of electricity nearby, such as a battery backup system or a generator.
- Have an emergency safety plan in place should they lose power or make arrangements to leave their home in the event a power outage lasts longer than their available backup power.
- Determine if their situation is critical enough to require a call for an ambulance.
For more information on how to be prepared in case of emergency, please visit our Emergency Preparedness page.
Non-Payment Disconnections for Critical Care Customers
Please note registering as a Critical Care or Key Account Customer will not prevent a non-payment disconnect from happening or remove responsibility to pay the full account balance. It provides extra time for payment arrangements and/or financial assistance. InnPower is here to work with and support customers. If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service team at 705-431-4321.
The Critical Care Customer registration form must be completed/signed by your physician and updated annually to remain effective.
