Information regarding projects planned to maintain and improve the infrastructure within our electricity system.

County Relocates

As part of its transportation engineering plan, the County of Simcoe is widening Innisfil Beach Road (IBR), between Thornton on the west end to 20th SR on the east end, covering a distance of about 12 km. This project requires the moving of multi circuit pole line infrastructure to accommodate their requirements. The project was started in 2012 with the widening of the intersection of IBR and 10th SR, and is expected to continue each year until 2020. In 2015, the intersection of IBR and 20th SR and IBR and the 5th SR are scheduled for expansion, with the intersection of IBR and Yonge Street for 2016. In the following years, sections of Innisfil Beach Road are planned for widening; Yonge Street to 20th SR in 2017, Yonge Street to 10th SR in 2018 and Hwy 400 to 10th SR in 2019.
